Data. Even the word itself can be confusing. Is it pronounced dey-tuh, dat-uh or dah-tuh?!? Is it supposed to be used with a singular or a plural verb?!? The good news is that its pronunciation and verb conjugation doesn’t matter for the purposes of this workshop – what matters most is using data within the right context to tell your best story.

Join us for this workshop on leveraging the power of data – whether you hate it or love it. Presenter Maclaren Latta will discuss data sources and how data can be used for framing up specific narratives and objectives. She will also share the what and why behind the data used for the We Will community visioning project (WeWillParkCounty.org) and how to use it.

Leave this workshop empowered to embrace data more than ever before and ready to reference WeWillParkCounty.org and other sources to create compelling, data-based stories and grant applications for your organization. Everyone from self-described data neophytes to data geeks is welcome to attend.

ABOUT OUR PRESENTER:

Maclaren Latta is a collaborator who helps uncover insights and develop strategies for impactful organizations. She leverages her continued curiosity and 25+ years of experience to help clients exceed their goals.

Maclaren worked with the Park County Community Foundation to develop the We Will community vision and create the We Will data set after hearing thoughts from more than 700 community members. As part of the initiative, she facilitated discussions with nonprofits and other community leaders; reviewed more than 640 responses from a county-wide survey; and conducted six focus groups. In addition to her full-time consulting work, Maclaren teaches consumer behavior at Montana State University's Jake Jabs College of Business and Entrepreneurship.
