Preventing Burnout and Building Resilience for Nonprofit Leaders — A Three-Part Series
Presented by Leah Holmstedt, LCSW & Maria Mulvaugh, LCSW, Co-Founders of Sage Behavioral Health
Nonprofit leadership demands a lot: sustained motivation, self-awareness under pressure, and organizational systems that hold up over time. This three-part series addresses each of these directly, giving leaders both personal tools and practical organizational strategies to build lasting resilience and expand their impact. Each session stands on its own and delivers immediately usable tools, but together they build a fuller picture.
Our August session was the first of this series. In that session, we identified the three core drivers that keep you motivated, engaged, and genuinely excited about your work. Together, we built specific, intentional plans to strengthen each driver, and we all left that training with a personalized toolkit of practices matched to where we are right now. We also took home a framework that will help each of us build a workplace culture where people flourish, stay, and grow, enabling us to extend our impact to the community.
Session 2: Know Your Brain, Lead With Your Strengths
Thursday, September 17 — 11:30 am to 1:30 pm
at The Hub Clubhouse at the Senior Citizens Center - 105 West lewis st in Livingston
Every brain is wired differently, especially when it comes to how we focus, prioritize, manage time, and switch between tasks, and most leaders were never taught to understand their own patterns, let alone their staff's. Attention drops, motivation dips at the wrong moments, plans fall apart under pressure; it's easy to read these as personal failings when, in reality, they are patterns we can work with and understand.
You'll leave with new insight into your own working style around attention, planning, and follow-through, plus a versatile playbook of strategies that support different brain types and ways of working. The result is a more cohesive, energized workplace where every team member is understood, valued, and set up to contribute from their strengths.
Remember, attendance at Session 2 does NOT require you to have attended Session 1. We'll review for those who couldn't join us last month, so you won't feel like you're behind.
NEW LOCATION! Thanks to the generosity of the Park County Senior Citizens Corp., we'll be meeting at the new Hub Clubhouse located at 105 West Lewis Street in Livingston.
