PCCF Partners with Cars Helping Charities
Park County residents can turn unwanted vehicles into tax-deductible donations that help the community.
The very first vehicle donated to the Park County Community Foundation in its partnership with Cars Helping Charities.
Thank you for your interest in our newly-launched vehicle donation program where Park County residents can turn their unwanted vehicles into tax-deductible donations that support local nonprofits. Maybe your vehicle has been totaled, or perhaps you have a car that needs a new engine and you just aren’t going to invest in it. You don’t need to pay to get rid of it, you can turn it into a donation to help your local community. Here’s how.
How does it work?
· Gather together the following information about your unwanted vehicle as the donation process will ask you to provide it: VIN number, Vehicle Year, Vehicle Make, Vehicle Model;
· Fill out the form on the Park County Community Foundation’s dedicated landing page on the Cars Helping Charities website (provided below);
· Someone at Cars Helping Charities can call and assist you with completing the process, if desired;
· Cars Helping Charities researches and determines the value of your vehicle, and this amount is donated to the Park County Community Foundation;
· Cars Helping Charities provides you with a 1098c form for your tax deductible donation, and PCCF will confirm with you our receipt of the funds.
What vehicles can be donated?
They will take all vehicles, regardless of whether they are operable or not, including those with significant damage to the body, and including those that do not start or drive. Other vehicles they will consider include: motor homes, boats, and buses. However, sadly, they do not take tractors or side-by-sides.
How do I get started?
You can click and navigate to PCCF’s page on Cars Helping Charities’ website and follow the steps.
