8th Annual Give A Hoot Campaign Kicks Off Supporting Local Park County Nonprofits
Park County Community Foundation (PCCF) announces the eighth annual Give A Hoot campaign beginning Wednesday, July 1. Give A Hoot is Park County Community Foundation's annual community giving challenge that connects community members with causes they care about most. Since 2019, Give A Hoot has raised $13.4 million for over 100 nonprofits from over 25,797 donations. Funds raised by participating nonprofits during Give A Hoot will be eligible to receive partial matching funds from the Park County Community Foundation.
“Together, we’re building a stronger, more resilient Park County,” said Keva Ward, program manager at PCCF. “Dollars raised during Give A Hoot go directly to Park County nonprofits working to solve the county’s most emergent issues like food insecurity, housing, and education. During the month of July, Give A Hoot supporters can amplify the impact of every donation thanks to this year’s matching pool sponsors."
“Last year, the funding provided by Give A Hoot was vital to us being able to offer teacher bonuses, provide housing subsidies for teachers, and cover a small end-of-year budget deficit while keeping tuition affordable for our families,” said Colleen French, director at Little People’s Learning Center.
Thanks to the generosity of community members who give to the Give A Hoot Matching Pool, the eighth annual Give A Hoot campaign begins with nearly $500,000 in the matching pool. That amount will grow throughout the campaign as all are invited to contribute to the matching pool as well as to their favorite nonprofits.
“A love for Park County has inspired seven amazing years of Give A Hoot,” said Gavin Clark, executive director at PCCF. “As we kick off our eighth annual Give A Hoot, we are thrilled to help inspire an entire month of giving. Nonprofits are the backbone of our community, and every Give A Hoot donation directly supports their essential work.”
Rainy Martin, executive director of the Community School Collaborative said, “The funding we receive from Give A Hoot ensures that we can continue to provide Cougar Career Days for students throughout Park County as well as Career Pop-Up Clubs and job shadow programs for Sleeping Giant Middle Schoolers, activities that help young people see a future for themselves and start building it.”
Give A Hoot is made possible each year thanks to the long-term support and generosity of the Dennis & Phyllis Washington Foundation & Willow Creek Ranch.
“We are once again honored by the generosity of our matching pool sponsors and of each and every donation during Give A Hoot,” said Tricia Erikson, philanthropy director at PCCF. “The spirit of giving is alive and well in Park County and it inspires the entire community to support the organizations addressing our greatest challenges and making a real impact in the lives they serve.”
