Nonprofit Network Schedule

 

The Park County Nonprofit Network is a “brown bag” lunch program that provides local nonprofit professionals with an variety of educational and collaborative opportunities. Each program focuses on a relevant nonprofit topic and is facilitated by an expert in that field.

The Park County Nonprofit Network is hosted by the Park County Community Foundation, it is free of charge and open to the public. We simply ask that you RSVP using the link in the program description.

What exactly are you responsible for legally as a board member and what are board best practices?

As a nonprofit board member, your service carries with it a significant level of responsibility. Whether you have an all-volunteer board or work with an executive director, this session will help you understand and define the roles and responsibilities of a nonprofit board of directors, as well as how to keep your board energized! Join us to learn the basics of nonprofit board member roles and responsibilities and how to enhance the performance of your leadership team.

About the Presenter

Bonnie Sachatello-Sawyer is the founder and executive director of the Bozeman-based nonprofit Hopa Mountain, an organization dedicated to investing in rural and tribal citizen leaders who strive to improve educational, ecological and econimc development in their hometowns. Formerly the director of Native Waters Project at Montana State University, Bonnie has more than 20 years of experience collaboratively developing education projects in the Northern Rockies. An educator by training, she worked for 11 years at the Museum of the Rockies. She recieved her Ed.D. from Montana State University in Adult and Community Education and completed her M.A. in Political Science at the University of Richmond. Her undergraduate degree in Political Science is from Vanderbilt University. Bonnie has worked with numerous nonproft boards and is looking forward to sharing her experience with Park County.
