Nonprofit Management Series

In partnership with the Montana Nonprofit Association, the Park County Community Foundation is pleased to provide for the first time in Livingston a four-part Nonprofit Management Series for staff and board members of area nonprofit entities.  Each seminar in the series focuses on an essential of nonprofit management:  good board governance, strong financial management, bold strategic planning and successful fundraising.  Leaders who attend these affordable, day-long workshops leave with the tools and templates needed to develop organizations into stronger, more effective nonprofits.

Seminar dates are:  Feb. 15, March 15, April 26 and May 24.  Registration opens in early January.

Board Governance: Developing Leadership & Stewardship

A strong board is the backbone of any successful organization. This workshop covers the legal responsibilities and best practices for developing and sustaining a successful board of directors.

Strategic Planning: the Obligation, the Science, the Art

Planning is the foundation for strategic decision making. In this workshop you will learn to not only create a compelling plan, but also how to make that plan an active guiding tool for your organization. Planning techniques are practiced during the session, giving you the tools for putting your strategic plans into action.

  • Types of plans, how to use them, when to make them
  • Using data in planning
  • Preparations needed for planning
  • Using strategic questions, generative thinking, visioning and deep analysis when developing a plan

Financial Management: Systems for Success

This workshop focuses on best practices for financial management and nonprofit budgeting,
financial policies and practices, and risk management. You will gain a better understanding of
financial accountability and internal controls to reduce the risk of errors or fraud.

Fund Development: Mission-Driven Fundraising

A nonprofit needs sufficient funding to meet its mission. At the Fund Development workshop, learn to create a fund development plan, design strategies to diversify and maximize your revenues, and establish clear communications to strengthen fundraising success.
