Nonprofit Network Schedule


The Park County Nonprofit Network is a “brown bag” lunch program that provides local nonprofit professionals with an variety of educational and collaborative opportunities. Each program focuses on a relevant nonprofit topic and is facilitated by an expert in that field.

The Park County Nonprofit Network is hosted by the Park County Community Foundation, it is free of charge and open to the public. We simply ask that you RSVP using the link in the program description.

Navigating New Nonprofit Financial Statements in 2018 with Rosie Barndt, CPA, P.C.

Bring your lunch and join us for the November Park County Nonprofit Network event!

Whether you are nonprofit finance novice or expert, Rosie Bardnt, CPA, will help you navigate your nonprofit financial statements and clearly understand how to implement necessary updates and changes at your organization.

Beginning December 15, 2017 the Financial Accounting Standards Board’s (FASB) much-anticipated Accounting Standards Update (ASU), Presentation of Financial Statements of Not-for-Profit Entities takes effect. Rosie will explain how the newly released ASU will change the way all nonprofits classify net assets and prepare financial statements. She will also discuss Form 990, Return of Organization Exempt from Income Tax and items to consider as you are preparing the Form 990.

Rosie is a Certified Public Accountant with over 23 years of experience auditing, preparing tax returns, and consulting nonprofit organizations.  Rosie was with Holmes & Turner for 15 years as an employee and a shareholder, before establishing Rosie Barndt CPA, P.C. in May 2017.

Rosie is a member of Montana Society of CPAs and the American Institute of Certified Pubic Accountants.  She earned her accounting degree from Montana State University.

Funding Fundamentals with Kristen Galbraith, GPC.

Bring your lunch and tackle the topic of grant writing with Kristen Galbraith at our January Nonprofit Network event! Kristen’s presentation will cover the following fundamentals of securing funding for your organization:

  • Considerations of most fundable projects/programs.
  • Identification of resources to research and locate funding opportunities.
  • Description of the basic requirements, processes and sections of grant proposals.
  • Budgeting and sustainability.
  • Collaboration and support.
  • Identification of types of documents necessary for inclusion in proposals.
  • Submission strategies and evaluation considerations.
  • Reporting and administration strategies.
  • Public involvement, media and community relations.
  • Recognition of common mistakes by proposal writers.

Kristen is one of three in the state of Montana who is Grants Professional Certified and is Board Chair of the Nominating Committee for the Grants Professional Association. She has over 16 years of project development and management experience with a special emphasis in grant application processes and administration, working with nonprofit organizations, counties, cities and Native American tribes in Montana and across the country. She is experienced in researching and identifying potential sources of funding, preparing comprehensive and succinct applications and administering and managing projects in compliance with funding agency guidelines.  Over the past eight years, she has written successful grant applications for a variety of clients, totaling close to $26 million that has funded multiple projects and programs.
