PARK COUNTY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES 2009 GRANT RECIPIENTS

 

Park County, Montana--The Park County Community Foundation (PCCF) is pleased to announce the grant recipients for its 2009 Grants cycle with awards totaling $30,000. These grants were awarded to nonprofits working throughout Park County in a wide variety of activities. Projects ranged from youth activity and leadership programs to community art exhibitions; from food pantry backpack program expansion efforts to senior activities; and from music programs to pre-school programs. 

“We received a wonderful response to PCCF’s third grant cycle. The applications demonstrated the important efforts of organizations and people working to make Park County a better place for everyone,” said Ted Madden, PCCF’s executive director. “We were able to increase our granting amount each year for the past three years thanks to generous support of various Park County Donors.” said Madden, “PCCF is committed to our grantmaking program as well as other approaches that work with everyone in Park County to bring resources and effective programming together to give all who live and work in the county the opportunity to achieve the great quality of life that this community offers.” Beyond grantmaking, PCCF is committed to increasing nonprofit capacities in Park County through education and training opportunities, technical assistance, and its Park County COMPASS – a measurement tool to reflect what is important to members of the community”. 

Grant awards were based on the PCCF Grants Committee recommendations and approved by the PCCF Board of Directors. Grants Committee members include PCCF Board members: Milla Cummins (Committee co-chair, Livingston), David Eaton (Committee co-chair, Livingston), Tawnya Rupe (Emigrant) and Park County community members, these are: Ken Britton (Gardiner), Kelley Dowdell (Livingston), Mark Pesa (Livingston).

 Grant Recipients Include:

 

  • Livingston Center for Art and Culture, for art classes with BBBS participants,
  • CASA, for their “Child Abuse HotlineAwareness” Campaign,
  • Snoopy Cooperative Preschool (Gardiner) for Schoalrship and Resource Expansion,
  • Child Care Connections, to Park County Child Seat installation classes,
  • Livingston Food Pantry, to expand their school backpack program,
  • Gardiner Food Pantry, to establish their school backpack program,”
  • Livingston Education Foundation, for Livingston Public School Language Arts support,
  • Livingston Ice Hockey Association, for Rink Materials and supplies,
  • Northside Park Project, for support of Northside Park Development, 
  • Mania, for Stride Youth Empowerment Program,
  • Park County Pediatric Care Team, for  child and family survey completion,
  • RSVP, Operating support for Park County senior volunteer programs,  
  • Shields Valley High School, Support for senior “Close-up” internships
  • Tri-County Network, Support House roofing project,
  • Western Sustainability Exchange, Young Entrepreneur Classes,
  • Yellowstone County Guardians, Youth Leadership Program,
  • Livingston Community Children Choir, Music Materials,
