Several organizations within Park County, including Farms for Families, Livingston Healthcare, The Livingston Food Pantry, Community Health Partners, Livingston Community Garden, Western Sustainability Exchange, and the MSU-Extension Office are meeting on a regular basis to identify ways to educate the community on the benefits for supporting community agriculture, and the use of locally produced food.
The group is currently working on securing a $1000 mini grant from The Montana Food Bank Network, through a program called GRASP (Growing Resources and Sustaining People). The group is in the process of defining a project that targets providing nutritional education to low income citizens.
This group is also working on partnering with the Montana Food Systems Council to share ideas and projects that are successful around the State of Montana and bring them to Park County.
